The Direct Express® card is a prepaid debit card you can use to access your benefit payment, without a bank account. We electronically deposit your funds directly into a prepaid debit card account and the funds are available to you on your payment date. Direct Express® has no enrollment fee or minimum balance requirement to open or use the account.
Signing up is quick and easy. Just call us at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY: 1-800-325-0778) or contact your local Social Security office. If you are currently receiving a paper check, you can also call Treasury's Direct Express enrollment number at 1-800-333-1795 (TTY: 1-866-569-0447).
